President

Stas Samarin, PhD, MBA has a cross-disciplinary training and extensive experience in image analysis and technology commercialization. These include more than 10 years hands-on experience with image analysis software, and 2 years extensive experience in entrepreneurship, technology transfer and commercialization as an Innovation Acceleration Fellow with Skandalaris Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at Washington University. Stas earned his Ph.D. in Biophysics from the Institute of Theoretical and Experimental Biophysics at the Russian Academy of Sciences in a joint effort with the French National Center for Scientific Research followed by postdoctoral training at Emory University School of Medicine. He received MBA from the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis.


Chief Operating Officer

Saeed Akbani, MSEE, MBA has 22+ years of experience in information technology, business strategy and product development. During his career, he has worked with numerous clients in different industries such as healthcare, automotive, telecommunications, and utilities. His customer list includes Xerox, AG Edwards, GM, AT&T, Nestlè-Purina, Consumers Power, Baxter Diagnostics, and BJC. Mr. Akbani is the founder and CEO of Data Dynamics, an IT consulting firm that develops custom web applications for clients.  Mr. Akbani received his MSEE from the Rackham School of Engineering at University of Michigan and MBA from Olin School of Business at Washington University in St. Louis.

Ayman El-Baz, PhDis a renowned expert in advanced image analysis and the inventor of PulmoCADx technology. Since 2006 Dr. El-Baz holds the Assistant Professor position, and is the Head of the BioImaging Laboratory at Bioengineering Department in the University of Louisville. His research program is focused on developing new computer assisted diagnostic systems, image modeling, image segmentation, 2-D and 3-D registration, visualization, and surgical simulation including finite element analysis. Dr. El-Baz is listed as an author on more than 70 technical articles on image analysis and computer-assisted diagnosis. Dr. El-Baz received the B.Sc. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering from Mansoura University, Egypt, and the Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Louisville.
